In previous years, it was in Théâtre Maisonneuve, and this year it will be in Théâtre Wilfrid-Pelletire, which is the best performance hall in Montreal. The cast and content of the show are professional, which can bring the best visual feast to the audience.

The Gala is the largest Chinese New Year cultural show in Montreal. This will be La Troupe’s 17th year celebrating Chinese New Year. Attendance for this event is increasing every year, as well as the number of participating companies, cultural groups, and media coverage.

La Troupe Artistique Phoenix de Montréal is a valued member of both the local Chinese and national multicultural communities, providing an important and precious link for cultural connections between our peoples.

La Troupe is a registered non-profit organization that attracts hundreds of professional Chinese and non-Chinese artists. Our mission is to help Canadian audiences become familiar with Chinese culture in order to better understand the local Chinese community through our art and dance performances.

This event will be a chance to enjoy poetic singing, dancing, and other cultural presentations. The background magnificence of the mountain and landscape scenes will show the perfect miracle of nature in a unique and full artistic expression.

A new style of Chinese ballet dancing, classical and folk dancing, martial arts, lion dancing, singing, folk music and more will be showcased to produce a complete magical experience.

La Troupe will feature more than a hundred artists, including some internationally renowned Canadian professional dancers of various ethnicities from all over the world, who will share their passionate interpretation of all these oriental arts. Since its establishment in 2000, La Troupe has delivered wonderful yearly Chinese New Year performances to Montreal audiences.

During this performance, we will welcome artists from Cirque du Soleil, the National School of Dance of Canada and the Suzie Paquette Dance School. This marriage of Chinese and Western cultures represents a new beginning for us.

We are on land which has long served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst Indigenous peoples, including the Haudenosaunee and Anishinabek nations. We acknowledge and thank the diverse Indigenous peoples whose presence marks this territory on which peoples of the world now gather.

La Troupe, integrating Chinese and Canadian Art culture, embodies the inclusiveness and diversity of multiculturalism. This event will highlight the creativity produced by the mixing of both Chinese and Canadian culture and art. Without a doubt, Sunday, February 12th, will certainly be a most refreshing, exciting, and unforgettable night!
